Goodnight for now
Okay, that's where we're going to leave the blog for tonight. BUT. Rest assured that a) any late-night breaking news that you need to be across will be all over the ABC News homepage and b) the blog will be back bright and early tomorrow morning. And we hope tomorrow morning brings lots of good news of no cases and sunny skies and free puppies for all.
Thinking of all our Victorian blog buddies tonight. Look after yourselves, eh? With a bit of luck this will be a nice short wee lockdown and you can all get back to it in no time.
Until next time, bye from me (and Simon and Jess, who did the real work today).

More questions
Any news on whether moving is allowed?-Stressed
You can move house if that place is going to become your ongoing place of residence. Professional removalists are allowed to help you, but friends and family are not.
Are intimate partners allowed to stay overnight?-Lonely
Yep. Go nuts.
The one-person bubble is so important for the mental well-being of those living alone. Do you know if the designated bubble person is allowed into the other person's home and whether this can be outside the 5km radius? Thanks!-Ben
Agreed, yes and yes. I had hoped to never have to use the term 'Bubble Buddy' again, but here we are.
Hiya, can you pop a link up to the full list of restrictions? I'm a parent and struggling with what I can do with kids. I can see you can walk with "one other person" - if myself and that other person both have dependent children with us, can we walk together?-Vic parent
This link may be of service to you. And to answer your kid question - that would be fine. Children can be included in the one-person social bubble.

Question time
Is my housemate able to leave home to drive me to the doctor (more than 5km away)?-Scared of Public Transport
The guidelines say that "you can leave home to accompany someone for essential medical treatment if you are a parent, guardian or necessary support person", and "the 5km limit does not apply to care and health care". So I would deduce that means the answer to your question is yes.
I was visiting Melbourne from qld over the weekend ? I didn't attend any of the exposure sites, do I need to follow the VIC lockdown?-Confused in QLD
So long as you have not visited any of the exposure sites, and arrived before the Queensland border rules changed, you're okay. But if you have any symptoms at all, make sure you get tested and isolated.
Hi Dean, we started the blog off this morning with Bridget, then Simon filled in the day and now you are going to see the blog out tonight. Guess the old band is back together again mate?-A. Fan
Think of us like The Beatles on the roof of Apple Studios. Except absolutely nobody in the world wanted this.
Have any details been provided about today's positive cases? We were previously being advised of how new cases linked in / were connected and whether they were already in isolation when they tested positive.-Details please
I don't have all the details on hand at the moment, but this morning the Acting Premier said all of these new cases were linked, which he said was "very reassuring".

Health Minister Greg Hunt is currently on 7.30
First of all, hi.
Second of all, as the title of this post suggests, Health Minister Greg Hunt is currently appearing on 7.30. He and host Leigh Sales are going at it over a number of COVIDy topics.
Here's a taste of one discussion about vaccination rates in Australia's aged care facilities.
Leigh Sales: Let me talk about aged care. "It is anticipated the rollout to cage care facilities will take approximately six weeks so by 30 March." Today we learn, only because of the COVID outbreak, that there are 29 aged care facilities in Victoria that had not been vaccinated. Whose head is going to roll for that? Yours or the Aged Care Minister's?
Greg Hunt: We have 98% of facilities around Australia and a program that's protecting Australians. For example, there was a case amongst a contractor in tri-care facility…
LS: Minister, can you please address what I was talking to you about. How many aged care facilities does that mean have not had vaccination yet?
GH: In Victoria, we have nine to complete tomorrow.
LS: What about nationally?
GH: Around Australia, prior to today, because we haven't had today's figures come in, we had 74 still to go.
LS: 74 still to go. You said on 16th February that it would take six weeks. We know these are the most vulnerable people in the country based on the death data that we saw last year. How can 74 places not have been vaccinated yet?
GH: Well, with great respect, we have had 98% around Australia. Almost 99% in Victoria, and in some cases they had issues — whether it was a gastro outbreak or had the flu vaccine. Given the epidemiological situation in Victoria, the Chief Medical Officer, after consulting with the advisory group on immunisation, has been able to bring forward the period in between the flu vaccine and the doses which are now to be given tomorrow.

'A nice way to start lockdown': Pair finally marry after COVID setbacks
Robyn Cowie and Aaron Sterns have had to cancel two previous attempts to marry due to COVID-19 lockdowns. Today, they finally tied the knot — and it was just in time.
It was an intimate gathering: Just the couple, two brothers, and their eight-year-old daughter Natalija.
The couple has had their share of hard times.
Over the past few years, Mr Sterns was diagnosed with leukemia, then had a related heart attack, and was treated for thyroid cancer.
Then his father was diagnosed with mesothelioma.
"It's been hellish," Mr Sterns said.
So when the registry office called and told them they could get married with just a few hours' notice they jumped at the chance.
"Life's fleeting and COVID shows that," Mr Sterns said. "It [the wedding] is not going to be what we envisaged but … we can always have a big celebration later."

Expert says there's 'no argument' for statewide lockdown as Victorians brace for restrictions
A leading epidemiologist says there's no evidence that regional areas should be subject to the same restrictions as Melbourne, but others say the seven-day lockdown may have to be extended.
Deakin University epidemiologist Catherine Bennett said there was no evidence showing why the restrictions should apply to regional Victorians.
"A statewide lockdown puts everyone in quarantine, in effect, until you figure out who needs to be there and you can release everyone else," she said.
"If we're only closing regional Victoria because there's a concern Melburnians won't do what they're asked to, then I think that's the wrong thinking."
Monash University head of epidemiology James Trauer said it could take several weeks to control the latest outbreak.
"An incubation period is about five days, so the period in between one person getting infected and the person who they infect getting infected is often about a week," he said.
"That might give us just enough time to see whether we're beginning to get an effect.
"But we'll also see how the contact tracing has gone from the cases that come through up until now.
"So we'll have a little bit more information, but I suspect two, maybe two to three weeks from here."

Answering your questions
Hi Jess, with the exposure of some Port Adelaide fans to a COVID positive person on the weekend, I'm just wondering if SA has released their latest numbers yet today?-Any SA Numbers?
South Australia recorded no new cases of coronavirus today.
What about property settlement? And the final inspection before settlement?-Mick
If you click on the PDF at the bottom of this page and scroll to page 5, you'll see under theauthorised providers and authorised worker list: "services related to property settlement or commencement/end-of-lease (including removalists)". So they're allowed.
As you can see, removalists are also allowed, so it would make sense that moving house is allowed. (Thank you to the helpful person to pointed this out!)
Does visiting the vet fall under care giving or a necessary service?
My rabbit needs a vaccination...-pet owner
Veterinary clinics and related services (on-farm visits and animal care services) are considered authorised providers where there are genuine animal welfare issues.
Just checking the blog for a cute gif.-Mel

NSW-Vic border residents will be able to move within a border bubble during lockdown
New South Wales and Victorian residents living in border towns will be able to move within a border bubble during the state's 7-day lockdown.
They'll be permitted to cross state lines for essential reasons including work and education but Victorians must not leave the bubble zone.
New South Wales Cross Border Commissioner James McTavish says anyone travelling to that state who has been in Victoria after 4:00pm on Thursday afternoon, must follow Victoria's rules.
"But they still must abide by the requirements of entry into Victoria in that they can only be outside their principal place of residents for those five reasons," he said.
